Machinery and electronics have once made proactive contributions to the development and construction of national economy of our country, which is playing a role of pillar industry. Owing to effective supports from national policies, production and sales in machinery and electronic industry has maintained a continuous expansion in industrial scale in recent years. However, it is still confronted with several bottlenecks to its development. Firstly, machinery and electronics manufacturing industry is weak in development and application of core technologies. Development and application of core technologies means long-term high investment, which requires a long time to gain benefits. Secondly, structure of products with unique features and advantages is unreasonable, which requires accelerated adjustment. Thirdly, weak consciousness of marketing and brands as well as the lack of renowned transnational corporations are still in existence. Fourthly, the lack of high-end comprehensive talents is so obvious.
　　As emerging strategic industry, high-end manufacturing industry will witness a prior development during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, which bring forth more investment opportunities. Development of high-end manufacturing industry during the the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period will focus on five subsidiary industries, namely aviation, aerospace, high-speed railway, marine engineering and intelligent equipments. According to the Planning, annual sales volume of high-end equipment manufacturing industry will top over RMB 600 million by 2015. Its proportion in total sales volume of equipment manufacturing industry will be over 30% by 2020. Furthermore, domestic market satisfaction rate will also top over 25%.
