Chinese local governments, including Shanghai, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong launched BIPV pilot projects in their urban areas.
The Chinese government has made a fresh call for new PV and BIPV applications from regional governments under the Golden Sun Program. In order to encourage more applications, the government is offering subsidies on all Golden Sun projects. PV projects and “general” BIPV projects will benefit from a subsidy of RMB5.5 per watt (US$0.88) while BIPV projects focusing on “the type of building materials and the architecture” will receive a subsidy of RMB7 per watt as reported by PV-Tech’s sister site Design Build Solar.
